How to set up wordpress

I have a Blog on wordpress and I have been deleting old files and would like to delete old posts. Now you have to go one by one and that takes alot of time. Is there a plugin that lets me delete a bunch at one time?

I use WordPress for a blog hosted on my own site, and it is saying it needs to be updated. I’m afraid that if I upload the new version to my site, it will erase my previous posts.
Also, would I have to uninstall the previous version from the server before uploading the updated version?
Sorry, new to this and not sure what to do.

Hey…I am trying to run a tutorials site with wordpress but when users click a category I want it to list the topics in that category just like:http://pscloud.com/category/navigation-b…
But on my site when you browse them it lists all the posts in full…:http://colinsmiley.net/?cat=5

Can someone please dumb this down for me? I have no clue how to do this:
Create a Page Template with a query, and a loop, that retrieve and display the posts. Then via Administration > Pages > Add New, add a new Page with that Page Template designated in the Template field. I have followed the instructions as per the codex on wordpress.org but it is still not working. Does any one know why or have and suggestions?
I have configured the gamil account correctly and set up the WP blog to auto publish the posts. (by pasting sugested code in footer.php).
But it still doesn’t work….

I want to use this an an recipe index page for a recipe blog. I want people to be able to browse by entrees, side dished, desserts, etc rather than just clicking through the blog. Tags seem to make more sense for this in case of items that can fit into more than one catagory. For example, if I posted a recipe that could be used as either a side dish OR an appatizer, I could just tag it as both and it would be listed under both sections on the index page. It’d be great if I could actually customize the page a bit, but just the listing would be great. Help is greatly appreciated!

And then, when I delete one, both comments disappear.
What could be going on?

I installed wordpress on my server, but I want to integrate the posts in my own design.
Perhaps a PHP script for this.
